I had a completely smooth and enjoyable experience from requesting to book through the end of my trip to Raccoon Retreat. The space was clean and comfortable, perfect for some peace and quiet.

This secluded getaway destination helped us get off the grid and unwind. The stairs to the 2 bedrooms are unusually shallow, so not for those with balance or similar issues. Nice artistic touches for visual interest; other areas could use some attention/upkeep.

Raccoon Retreat was just the BEST! We had the best time! After reading all of the reviews we booked because of how cute this cabin looked and because it forces you to unplug from technology. You will get NO cell service at the cabin. You have to drive about 10 minutes down to the clearing to get it. But in our opinion, being able to unplug was much needed and super recharged our batteries. Picking up the gate fob was super easy and the management company was responsive and friendly. We had no problem plugging the address into our GPS, it took us right there. 🙂 We can’t wait to set up another stay! Thanks again!

This sweet little cabin in the woods is the perfect get away from the daily grind. We loved the artistic and eclectic design elements and the location is great! So close to so many fun activities (we hiked Swallow Falls, visited Fallingwater, and enjoyed s’mores next to the fire pit). We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back in the summer to enjoy the lake and many rivers and streams the area has to offer!

Very nice remote house in the mountains. Lots of trails nearby and the house had all the amenities we needed.

Had a great, long weekend at the cabin! The instructions say to not trust GPS and to follow their directions, but the GPS on our phones works just fine. I would recommend downloading an offline map of the area to your GPS app since there is minimal service. Great place to escape from the stress of work and be away from your phone! House had fantastic touches and many board games, books, and movies to enjoy.

This place was very cute and cozy. It have a modern and artistic vibe to it. I loved that they provided games, books, and movies. Bedding was very comfy.

We spent a weekend at the cabin and had a wonderful time. The cabin has all the essentials for comfortable weekend. The cabin is located in a very private and quiet spot yet also a relatively close drive to some excellent hiking and Wisp ski resort.

The house has a super cozy but modern “cabin” feel, set within a relatively secluded, wooded setting. It’s great for a true getaway, while still being just a short drive from Deep Creek attractions. The house does have DirecTV (which we didn’t realize because the listing says “no cable”, so we assumed only basic TV), but the lack of wifi was a bit of an inconvenience when it turned out our phones had very poor reception at the house. It would just have been nice to have a better idea of there being a chance of that, prior to going there, so we could tell family back home that it would be tricky to reach us. Otherwise, communication was excellent and it was easy to check in and out. We had a terrific visit!

We had a wonderful time. The property was warm and inviting. We spent a lot of time at the fire pit cooking our food and roasting marshmallows. When it got too cold we came inside to a nicely heated cabin. We couldn’t have been happier!

The cottage was very nice and clean. The location was very remote and private. However, the gated community was a bit of an inconvenience for our group because we had 2 cars and only 1 key to enter the gate, which was 10 minutes away from the actual cottage. I also found that paying the taxes separate and dealing with a rental company was inconvenient as well.

Very cozy and secluded place, yet has all amenities.

This cabin is so cozy and charming! We enjoyed the fireplace and exploring the surrounding woods. It’s secluded, so a bit of a drive to the grocery store or restaurants, 20-25min.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Racoon Retreat. The cabin is cozy and nicely decorated. The location is lovely too.

What an amazing cabin! The description online couldn’t be more accurate. This cabin is adorable, quiet, and a perfect place for a weekend getaway. The owners and property management company are responsive and genuinely care about making your stay as good as possible. We had a wonderful time there and will definitely be returning in the future!

Bob was quick to respond to my request, and the management company was pleasant and attentive. The little cottage was just the sweetest; beautifully executed renovation and attention to designed details while still allowing the rustic feel to show through. The location felt safe, private, and close to all things outdoors. Neighbors were few, and just the walk up the street felt like a gift. We were in luck, no wireless here! Which meant we could focus on the important things, like thoughts, hearts and the natural beauty around us. We are so grateful Bob! We will be back.

We had a wonderful stay at Raccoon Retreat! The home was well appointed, comfortable, and cozy! We especially enjoyed the fire pit, and being in a community that was off the beaten path. Thanks for a great stay; we hope to return soon!

This place was so adorable. We really enjoyed our stay. It was clean, comfortable, cozy. We spent most of our time at deep creek on the water- as it was close. All the essentials were provided. We would definitely come again and would recommend it to anyone trying to get a nice relaxing time away.

The raccoon retreat was the peaceful and wonderful getaway we were hoping for. The house was incredibly clean and the kitchen was well stocked. Would happily stay here again.

This cabin was adorable and cozy. Very clean. We didn’t use the kitchen but it was stocked with anything you might need. Check in was easy. We liked how the cabin was pretty secluded for the most part. No problems. Would stay again!

A nice and comfortable place with all you could need to enjoy a quiet getaway and connect with Mother Nature.

Cozy and charming cabin nestled in between boulders in the woods. A fantastic cabin for those looking to escape the noise and crowds. Easy to get to Wisp mountain and many parks nearby.

The house itself was very nice and very private. We were surprised to see any cars pass by on the rural backroad we were on. The owners must be artists, as there were unique finishing touches on many of the spaces, and details that we appreciated. The kids enjoyed the bookshelf of games and movies. The only downside was that it was difficult to coordinate two cars, as there was only 1 fob to get into the main gate, and the house is quite a ways away from the front gate. Also, there wasn’t really a parking space for 1 car, let alone two, as the space available was on a slab of rock and our car would have gotten stuck in the mud due to the rain. We ended up parking further up the road, which was fine as it was a very quiet road. The owners were very responsive to all our questions and were very welcoming. We would recommend this place to friends and would consider staying here again.

Indeed parking is a bit tricky with the incredible rain softening the ground EVERYWHERE (yuck) but we are happy to hear that you adjusted nicely.
