no noise but the wind in the trees

By: Trip Date: 07/20/2018

This is a great place if you want isolated location with no noise but winds in the trees with bbq, gaming room with 2 xbox setups, pingpong table, foosball, and tons of boardgames. Make sure you drive a 4×4 preferably jeep because the drive into the area is unpaved small rocks and dirt road.

Awesome Fire pit. Cozy and clean

By: Trip Date: 06/14/2019

We stayed at Bear Crossing in June 2019. Loved the cabin–fire pit was awesome, very cozy, clean and quiet as well. It was everything we wanted for our getaway!

Response from Rental Manager:
This cabin has been great for a lot of folks looking for solitude and ‘outdoor living’ for many years and we are so very happy that you were able to enjoy this also! We hope to see you again someday!

Had a great time at Bear Crossing

By: Trip Date: 05/24/2019

This was a cozy little cabin in the woods, and even though it rained all weekend and we couldn’t go hiking or boating, we had a great time. We played ping pong, foozeball, watched some classic movies (the dvd collection is great), had hot tub nights and enjoyed the fire pit as well. There was plenty to do at the cabin and my group and I really enjoyed our time there.

Response from Owners:
We thank you for being our guest and, indeed, it was rather sloppy weather during your stay. It is awesome that you were able to still enjoy your bonding time and, sometimes, rainy weather can help us resort to the ‘old fashioned game night’ approach! You were awesome guests and we thank you for your comments and feedback!

heated toilet seats. time with self

By: Trip Date: 03/10/2017

Great cabin to stay with friends or family. The hot tub and the bathroom heated toilet were the jewels of the place. I stayed with other 5 friends for the weekend and we had a great time. I had close communication with the host. The house is very spacious and welcoming. Outside there is a firepit area and a hot tub. The house is a little far from other places so if you’d like to enjoy time with yourself or close to nature is perfect.

Response from Manager:
So very happy – it sounds like you were the PERFECT guests for Bear Crossing! Certainly we try to accurately portray what the cabin offers and, indeed, the ‘setting’ – with the huge firepit and stone patio with hot tub and grill is an awesome feature! Indeed you are 15-20 minutes away from town and the main resort attractions; however many past guests has found that the ‘natural resort’ setting (with the surrounding forest, streams, and trails) is the resort that they are truly after. Thank you for being our guest and we so look forward to hosting you and/or friends again someday!

You will NOT be disappointed…

By: Trip Date: 05/25/2018

The Bear Crossing cabin was the perfect way for myself and our party to enjoy a long, memorial day weekend. The cabin looks great as it is on line but it is so much better in person. It’s very secluded which makes for a beautiful scenic ride to the property. Upon arrival its clear just how secluded you really are yet everything you really need is within 25-30 mins from it. The cabin itself was beyond our expectations. It truly has everything, and more, that you need for your stay. The decor really adds to the experience. As others have said, the fire pit is awesome!! The outdoor seating area and hot tub are the perfect place to lounge around and take in all of the views or connect to the outdoor speakers, which was an awesome surprise. We took the opportunity to take some hikes around the property and it didn’t disappoint. There’s hidden gems all over this place. We do not have a single negative thing to say. If you are considering this place you will not be disappointed.

Response from Rental office:
WOW and thanks for your kind words! It sounds like you were the perfect fit for Bear Crossing and we so look forward to your being our guest again and spending even more time here to really explore the area! So many outdoor activities – like the hiking trail from Bear Crossing the Muddy Creek Falls (highest waterfall in MD)!

Fantastic. Dog Friendly defined

Fantastic place to stay!! Dogs love the trails, but my dog had to search a little harder to find a clearing to do her business… just gave us more time exploring. The lookout nearby was an added bonus!! The old tennis courts served as an impromptu dog park to run off leash. Short story.. we forgot to get tin foil while we were out getting groceries. Owner had stocked the kitchen so well that we had some! The grill was not as clean as mine at home, but it was easily put to use. The horse shoe pit and fire ring made for a great dinner setting. Bring your own camp chairs unless you want to sit on benches. The automatic lights outside made getting around after dark easy. We saw a bear on our drive out in the morning!

Skiing at WISP

By: Trip Date: 02/12/2019

We had such a great time at Bear Crossing! It was perfect for a group of 8 coming to ski at Wisp for the weekend. The fireplace and hot tub were big highlights after hitting the slopes all day 🙂 We recommend factoring in some extra time to pick up the single gate key at the rental office (located 20 minutes away) and arriving together as a group to minimize trips from the house to the gate. Overall, it was a great and cozy place to stay in the winter!

Response from management:
Thank you for being our guest at Bear Crossing and we are so very happy that it worked well for you and your group! Happy to let you know that you can now use a remote access for the gate after picking up the single key we are appointed!

rustic cabin. fire pit. hot tub. grill

By: Trip Date: 07/18/2018

The cabin is great. Our group of friends attended a wedding nearby and we were really able to enjoy our time with each other at Bear Crossing. The rustic cabin was secluded yet had so many great amenities like a fire pit, hot tub, and grill that allowed our group to have a great time. Highly recommend for anyone who is looking for an awesome spot in the woods!

Response from owner:
Thanks so much for your feedback – always valued! We do feel that the firepit is the best we have ever seen and we have tried to work at creating some great outdoor living! It sounds as though your wedding experience at the White Barn was memorable and we are glad that Bear Crossing was able to add to your total experience!
