Such a great place to unplug and relax. Simple one room cabin and so clean. It was well equipped with everything and more! The location is great to get to Swallow Falls State Park, Herrington State Park. Enjoyed our stay very much!

We came down for the Volkswagen show that Deep Creek has every year. It was so cozy and quiet. A great stay away from the craziness of Dubs At The Lake. During the day, we could be out and about enjoying the show and activities they had during the weekend. And at night, we could relax peacefully and have a nice fire with some down time. Will be booking this spot again next year if available! Thanks Robert and Tina. You were both so kind.

We enjoyed our stay here! The location was perfect and we were able to enjoy much of the area in just two days. We highly recommended the Cherry Creek trail at Deep Creek State Park and Swallow Falls which is just a few minutes away. Great stay!

We booked Bear Necessities for a weekend getaway. It is a really cute cabin in a community of what appears to be three small cabins. The outside porch and fire pit were great. We enjoyed them both. The inside of the cabin was clean and welcoming. There is a full refrigerator, stove, and microwave oven. It’s essentially a “studio cabin”. The bathroom is small but well thought out. Our one issue was that we also didn’t find the bed to be particularly comfortable but that might be due to our personal preferences. The cabin is close to Swallow Falls and about 12-15 minutes to Deep Creek Lake. It was a really convenient location.

This was the best little getaway. We got a lot of use from the fire pit outside and just overall had a great time. Such a cozy little cabin. The host provided everything we needed and then some. It really was more amazing than we could’ve imagined!

The Bare Necessities cabin was really perfect for my winter getaway with my partner and our dog. It had everything we needed including a very well stocked kitchen. It’s in an excellent location, about 10 minute drive from attractions such as Wisp resort and swallow Falls. Tina and Robert were great hosts and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this stay.

We had a fantastic time at Bear Necessitates. The cabin was perfect size, checking in and out was a breeze, and the property is beautiful! We’ll definitely be back.

Super cozy and clean! Great location especially to explore Shallow Falls! If you’re looking for a place to disconnect (although phone service was great) this is it! We and our 2 dogs loved the area!

This cabin was a perfect getaway. It was stocked with everything you need. It was a perfect location for hiking at Swallow Falls. Short drive to restaurants. Our 2 dogs loved the porch and sitting by the fire. Fire wood was available on site too for $5.50 a box full. Great deal! We brought camping chairs for around the fire and extra pillows. We will stay here again.

This is a lovely cabin in a perfect location! We had an awesome time getting outdoors close by to ski and hike. The home is cozy and we made use of the fire pit despite the snow. I’d definitely recommend this place!

Lovely little cabin that was just what my wife and I wanted. We were able to bring our dog to unplug during the Thanksgiving break. Highly recommend others to stay here

Bear Necessities was great! The cabin was cozy with different personal touches. They had games, books, and coloring books. They even left dog treats for our dog that stayed with us. The cabin was sparkling clean! It is very close to Swallow Falls State park (4 mins) and 15 mins to Oakland and McHenry. This place is perfect for a weekend getaway. Owners thought of everything in the cabin to tea, coffee, shampoo, q-tips, cookware, etc. They even let us check in at 9am because they wanted us to be safe with the ice storm that was coming.
