Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!! Took a group of couples to celebrate my husband’s birthday and there was plenty space for everyone!! The basement full of games, ping pong, and tons of space was a big hit. A few things like random lights didn’t turn on, upstairs shower head didn’t turn on (baths only), and could use some updates, but for just a few days soaking up the beauty in a great locations up in the mountains it was perfect.

Indeed you are correct that the decor is dated – the homeowner’s choice. We only wish you had contacted us about the shower head (it does work, just a bit tricky to turn on). So glad you have a good visit for your Hubby’s Birthday!

Great place for a few families to stay! Quick drive to Wisp! Better drive something with 4WD in the winter. Overall a good stay.

Great stay, fit my large group. Host responds quickly too.
Use a 4 wheel drive vehicle if you are traveling here in the snow- the hosting agency even states in a separate contract that it is required to drive a 4 wheel drive/all wheel drive for this location.

I’ve stayed here before and it’s the perfect location to call “home” while exploring the surrounding area. It’s close to everything but secluded enough in the Sky Valley community that the peace and quiet are always waiting. It is both cozy and spacious, the best of both worlds, and I recommend there location for any visit to the area.

Great communication easy check In. Cabin is very spacious! My family of 6 and also two dogs had more than enough room! Nice quiet community. Would love to rent again

I had an excellent stay! The check in process went smoothly and I was provided with tons of helpful information about the house and the surrounding area. My group consisted of ~9 guests and we all fit comfortably in the large house. I would absolutely recommend this place and will keep it in mind for future trips to DCL.

Had a fun time with some friends, check in was very easy and there were lots of hikes within a 15-20 minute drive of the cabin. The cabin was very spacious and was more than large enough for our group. Although, definitely download an offline map if you are using GPS to drive in, as the cell signal gets spotty on the way up.

We had a great time at this beautiful house 🙂 we enjoyed the spacious living room and the deck a lot. We were also able to bring our dog so it was the perfect family trip for us all to come together. Def would recommend this place for family trips!

Perfect for our family gathering. The rooms were bigger then expected and the lake was just a short walk away. We relaxed in the casual great room and played games on the over-sized circular table. We highly recommend and plan on staying again.

We had a great time at the Hermitage cabin. The space is great for a group of 10-12, especially the wrap around porch. It’s quiet and away from main roads so it’s good for anybody who wants a little privacy or peace and quiet. We were also a short drive from several parks and hiking locations, and the area itself is beautiful. Would happily recommend.

We had a great time! Loved the open space in the main living area. The property is very private with a nice deck to enjoy the view of wildlife. Easy check-in. Would definitely rent again.

A very nice home. It was clean, had a very spacious first floor for congregating, and was just a short walk from the lake. Driveway comfortably fit 5 cars. The
management company, were very responsive.

Fantastic three nights at the Hermitage in Deep Creek. Shooting stars, fire pit and great walk down to the private beach. With three kids and a dog with us, we couldn’t have asked for a better quick get away from DC.

The Hermitage is the perfect getaway for those with large families looking for a quiet place to spread out and enjoy some good company in a gorgeous setting! The floor plan was amazing and the rooms were a great size! The house is adequately stocked with most everything you would need for your stay, and Tina and Robert leave you plenty of suggestions on how to enjoy the area! The house is a short walk/drive (we utilized a car with little children) from a private beach area and swimming docks. Plus, not far from the house is a fishing pond and playground. For rainy days, the house is filled with a great supply of games! While the decor is rustic, it only adds to the cabin’s charm and we found it feeling like home in no time! It was a great gift to our family!
